Gary’s Amateur Hour
Last Saturday, June 6, I hosted an Art/Trunk show from 12 to 6pm - the show was titled “Gary’s Amateur Hour” - a collection of misc work I created during the last few cold months of 2008 and the even colder early months of Winter 2009 (though I did show some of my childhood work as well for additional flavor and a bit of comic relief).
Some of the working themes, for this show in particular were: reused 11×17 paper, mixed media, two faces, eyes, aggressive vs. bashful, lawyers, animals, gray, mint green, black, yellow, blood and sharp teeth. In preparing for the show, I purchased all of my frames from Portland vintage shops and I got my matboard from S.C.R.A.P.
The video above documents behind the scenes setup pre show - the images below do the same.

Thanks to all who made it out!
